We’re thrilled to kick off the 5th edition of the #SheSaid campaign!
The #SheSaid campaign is all about celebrating women and giving their words the recognition they deserve. Thanks to the dedication of our global Wikimedia communities, we’ve been closing the gender gap by adding +15 555 of women’s quotes in 18 languages. In 2023 alone, we added over 5,555 new quotes and improved 1,786 articles. We’ve come so far, but there’s still more to do!
From September 1st to December 31st, 2024, we invite all Wikimedia communities and gender equality advocates to help bring women’s voices to the forefront.
Exciting Updates for 2024
This year’s #SheSaid campaign brings fresh features designed to make a bigger impact. We’ve rolled out new communication materials, including updated postcards, social media templates, and bookmarks to help spread the word. Our focus this year is on both quantity and quality, along with adding more quotes, we’re encouraging participants to verify, improve, and provide context for women’s quotes to ensure they are accurate and meaningful. We’re also welcoming 2 new language communities: Fante and Dutch, bringing the total to 20 participating languages: Arabic, Italian, Gungbe, Catalan, Ukrainian, French, Spanish, English, Bengali, Igbo, Central Bikol, Tagalog, German, Slovene, Swahili, Serbian, Telugu and Assamese. . Plus, we’ve revamped our #SheSaid Tools and Resources page with step-by-step guides and tips to support participants at every level.
