At Wiki Loves Women and Wiki in Africa, we believe everyone’s achievements should be seen, celebrated, and remembered, especially those of women, who are often underrepresented online.
Even in 2026, many women are still talked about through their families or relationships, rather than their own accomplishments. That’s why we work to improve the visibility of women online. That’s also why Wiki Loves Women celebrates women every March through the ISA “Tell Us About Her” challenge, now running for its sixth consecutive year.
Over the five past editions, participants contributed 192,590 descriptions and tags, making a real impact in improving visibility for women in different domains (Architecture, Litterature, Arts..) online.

This March, to mark this special month, we’ve launched the ISA “Tell Us About Her: Women in Sport” campaign. Thousands of images of women athletes exist online, but many remain under-described and hard to find.
The campaign runs till the 31st of March, if you want to learn more about the campaign please visit this link.
The ISA Tool is a fun, mobile-friendly way to tag and describe images on Wikimedia Commons. Each contribution helps improve visibility and searchability on Wikipedia & Wikidata.
