SheSaid, the campaign by Wiki in Africa that highlights women’s quotes, ran its 6th edition from September to December 2025 and it was bigger than ever. Originally rooted in Africa, SheSaid has grown into a global initiative, connecting communities across continents and languages to amplify women’s voices.
This year, participants joined from countries including Nigeria, Italy, Philippines, France, Kenya, Botswana, Switzerland, Ukraine, Indonesia, Benin, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Burundi, DRC, Madagascar, the Levant, and Senegal. The campaign expanded to five new languages, impacting 21 language projects on Wikiquote, from Arabic and Tagalog to Igbo and Swahili.

The results are impressive: SheSaid 2025 produced 15,588 new or improved articles, with Hausa, Indonesian, and Igbo leading the way. But beyond the numbers, SheSaid is about people. Organizers, contributors, and communities came together to share skills, support each other, and make women’s voices more visible.
Gender-focused groups such as Noircir Wikipedia, WikiDonne, Africa WikiWomen, and Les sans pagEs played a key role, showing the power of collaboration across regions and languages.
The story continues.. SheSaid returns in 2026, ready to shine an even brighter spotlight on women around the world.
