On the 16th July 2016, Wiki Loves Women in conjunction with Goethe Institut, Lagos, WikiAfrica and Wikimedia UG Nigeria organised her second event in lagos,Nigerian with focus on Women in Politics, Entertainment and The Girls Child.

The event hosted three selected NGOs in Nigeria: CEE-HOPE Nigeria, Women of Rubies and Arise Nigerian Women led by Betty Abah,Esther Kalejaye-Ijewere and Abimbola Junaid respectively.

As part of the agenda at the event, workshop and edith-a-thon were organised to introduce basis of wikipedia to the staff of the NGOs and also assist them in creating new  pages of notable women in Nigeria while many pages were improved and expanded at the same time.

The event enjoyed media coverages in major news media in Nigeria through  joint press release on The NATIONS, The Punch Newspaper  and many online publications. Below are the links to the online publication
