On 17th September, 2016. The Wiki Loves Women (Ghana) Team joined the Wiki Loves Monuments Team in Ghana on a trip to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region as part of events marking Wiki Loves Monuments in Ghana.
Wiki Loves Monuments is an international photo contest that is held across the globe within the Wikimedia movements to promote contents on monuments on Wikipedia and its sister projects.
The Team visited Ejisu Besease shrine where the Queen Mother of Ejisu and a notable female warrior who led the Asantes to war against the Bristish went for consultation before the war.They also visited her ancestral home and her Museum.
The Team also visited the Tano Subunum Shrine which has a 135 year old woman as the Fetish Priestess.
